Martin Carlton Garrison, age 80, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at his house in Kennesaw, GA, where he and his wife had resided for 33 years. Mr. Garrison was born on October 23, 1938, in Emerson, Georgia, son of the late Carlton Zed Garrison and Majorie Lorraine Martin Garrison. He was a graduate of Cartersville High School and thereafter served in the United States Marine Corps. He obtained his degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Technical Institute and graduated as a member of Tau Alpha Pi, National Honor Society.
Mr. Garrison began his engineering career in the plywood industry as a southeast field representative for American Plywood Association in 1966. In 1978, he was certified as an APA inspector. Mr. Garrison retired as a Structural Panels Product Service Manager for Georgia Pacific Corporation in 1996.
Martin was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Cartersville. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Jon Bradley Garrison. His children: Martin Bradley Garrison, Marla Jon Garrison Pitts, and Mark Collin Garrison. His grandchildren: Gavin Garrison, Garrison Pitts, Merianna Pitts, Caroline Pitts, and Mary Grace Garrison.
