Clifton Dempsey (Maryville College So., Cartersville) — Dempsey went 1-for-3 with an RBI and his seventh stolen base of the season in a game March 22 against Berry College. He then went 1-for-8 with a walk in a series against Huntingdon before going 1-for-1 with a walk and an RBI in a game Monday against Rust. He is now hitting .316 on the year with a .404 on-base percentage and a .342 slugging percentage in 76 at bats while starting every day at second base. He has scored seven runs, has 11 RBIs and has seven stolen bases.
Bo Edwards (University of North Georgia Sr., Adairsville) — Edwards went 0-for-1, walked four times and drove in a run during a start at designated hitter Saturday in a conference game against Armstrong State. Edwards is 2-for-20 with five walks on the year.
Ty Fowler (Tennessee Wesleyan College Jr., Cartersville) — Fowler threw two innings in relief during an 11-3 win over Midland March 23. He allowed two hits and a walk with five strikeouts in the outing. Fowler has thrown 7 1/3 innings in five appearances. He holds a 2.45 ERA and a .267 batting average against.
Michael Goss (UNC Greensboro Jr., Cartersville) — Goss went 2-for-4 in an 8-4 home victory over Georgetown Friday. He then went 0-for-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch in a 5-4 win Saturday. Goss holds a .321 batting average, .429 on-base percentage and .509 slugging percentage in 53 at bats this year. He has 13 runs scored and 13 RBIs.
Robert Harris (Troy University Sr., Woodland) — Harris made two relief appearances, allowing no run or hits in three innings last week. He pitched two innings in an 8-0 home win over Alabama A&M March 22 and tossed a scoreless inning during an 11-8 loss at Arkansas-Little Rock March 24. Harris has pitched 16 2/3 innings in eight appearances this season with a 4.32 ERA and 16 strikeouts.
Harrison Hatfield (Shorter University So., Cartersville) — Hatfield got a start at second base and went 0-for-1 during a game against Lincoln Memorial March 23. He again saw an at bat over the weekend in a series against Alabama Huntsville, going 0-for-1. Hatfield is 2-for-25 on the year with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs.
Tripp Jamieson (University of the Cumberlands Jr., Cartersville) — Jamieson went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in a game against Union College March 23. He then went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in a start at designated hitter during a weekend conference series with Lindsey Wilson. Jamieson is now hitting .259 on the year with a .333 on-base percentage and .466 slugging percentage in 58 at bats, 23 games and 18 starts. He has scored 16 runs and has 14 RBIs.
Connor Justus (Georgia Tech Jr., Cartersville) — Justus went 2-for-5 with a double, a walk and three runs scored during a March 22 game against Kennesaw State. He then cooled off a bit as he went 1-for-12 with two runs scored, an RBI and a sacrifice bunt during a three-game ACC series over the weekend. Georgia Tech took two out of three against No. 3-ranked North Carolina in the series. Justus is hitting .372 on the year with .449 on-base percentage and .574 slugging percentage in 94 at bats. He continues to bat in the No. 2 hole and start every game at shortstop. He has 17 RBIs with 26 runs scored.
Cody Ledbetter (Young Harris College Fr., Cass) — Ledbetter threw 1/3 of an inning in his second appearance of the season for Young Harris. He retired the lone batter he faced in two pitches during a 10-3 loss Saturday. In Ledbetter’s first outing of the season, he threw 1 1/3 innings and allowed two runs on one hit and one walk with a strikeout.
Sean McDermott (Cleveland State CC Fr., Adairsville) — McDermott continued his torrid stretch at the plate last week in a three-game series against Chattanooga State. He went 7-for-12 with three solo home runs during the series, including two in one game. McDermott then went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, two RBIs and another home run Monday in a game against Cumberlands. He leads the team with a .413 batting average to go along with a .452 on-base percentage and a .663 slugging percentage in 92 at bats. He has hit six home runs with 21 runs scored and 20 RBIs while batting in the No. 3 hole in the lineup and starting at first base.
Hunter Osborn (Reinhardt University So., Cartersville) — Osborn improved his record to 5-1 on the season as he picked up a win Friday as part of a three-game conference series with Milligan. Osborn threw five innings, allowed two hits, one run and struck out seven in the outing. In eight starts this season, Osborn has a 1.93 ERA and a .188 batting average against in 42 innings with 34 strikeouts.
Mason Robinson (Wallace State-Dothan CC So., Woodland) — Robinson had a nice week for Wallace State-Dothan, reaching base four times in nine plate appearances in a game against Andrew and a doubleheader against Bishop State. He also scored three runs, drove in three runs and hit a triple. He started two of the three games in center field and another in left. He also batted in the No. 3 hole against Andrew. Robinson is now hitting .253 on the year with a .367 on-base percentage and a .458 slugging percentage in 83 at bats. He is tied for second on the team with 11 extra-base hits and is second on the team with 14 walks. He has been especially productive in the month of March as he has a .349 batting average with nine runs scored and seven RBIs in 43 at bats.
Tristan Smith (Young Harris College So., Adairsville) — Smith went 1-for-11 in a three-game conference series against UNC Pembroke over the weekend. He also was hit by a pitch and had a successful sacrifice bunt. He started each game at shortstop and batted second in the order. He is now batting .283 on the year with a .365 on-base percentage and three doubles in 46 at bats. He has three RBIs and seven runs scored.
JoJo Underwood (UNC Greensboro Jr., Cartersville) — Underwood hit the game-winning sacrifice fly to walk off with a 5-4 victory Saturday. He also scored a run as a pinch runner and went 0-for-1 in three appearances off the bench last week. Underwood is now 2-for-10 on the year with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Tyler Will (Berry College Jr., Cartersville) — Will made one relief appearance on March 22 against Maryville, throwing one inning and allowing no runs and one hit. In eight appearances this season, Will has thrown eight innings out of the bullpen with a 3.38 ERA and three strikeouts.
Chaz Wilson (Columbus State University Jr., Cass) — Wilson made an appearance at Flagler College March 25 and got out of a sixth-inning jam with a pop up and a fly out. He then returned to the mound in the seventh and walked a batter before being lifted for a lefty-lefty matchup. That runner would come around to score after Wilson was relieved. For the season, Wilson has pitched 13 innings across nine relief appearances and has a 4.85 ERA, a .205 batting average against and 13 strikeouts.
