Possible arson investigated

The Cartersville Fire and Cartersville Police departments are seeking information about a fire that broke out at 152 Jones St. in Cartersville July 6 at approximately 12:30 a.m.

Cartersville Fire Marshal Mark Hathaway said in a press release that the lot was vacant, and all utilities had been disconnected.

Hathaway also said in the release that a witness saw a red truck with four white male passengers stopped in the area of the residence shortly before the fire broke out.

Cartersville Fire Department and Georgia Arson Control have teamed up to gather information about this fire.
