Routine stop takes off trafficking amount of coke

A Cartersville police officer on Monday afternoon stopped a vehicle on North Dixie Avenue for window tint but came away with a drug arrest.According to the report, the officer stopped the 2013 Dodge Challenger about 3:45 p.m. and was backed up by the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force K-9 unit. The dog alerted on the presence of narcotics.A search of the vehicle recovered 2.29 ounces of cocaine, a digital scale, cookware used in manufacturing crack cocaine, and baggies for packaging cocaine for resale.The driver, Warriel Adams, was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, manufacturing crack cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug-related objects and window tint violation.

Woman steals vehicle, caught in cow pastureOn Sunday about 11:15 a.m., a Bartow County deputy sheriff was dispatched to Criss Black and Arnold roads in reference to a vehicle that had just been stolen from a residence on Kingston Highway 293.As the officer was en route, dispatch advised that the complainant followed the vehicle to the location and a female driver exited the truck and began to walk through a cow pasture.Upon arrival, the officer observed Holly Hart walking through the pasture away from where the stolen truck was located. The officer then drove to the intersection of Criss Black and Arnold when Hart walked to the patrol vehicle.Hart was asked if and why she was in the truck, and she responded, “Yes, because an unknown person pulled a gun on me.”Hart later said the person with the gun was Satan, and she was an apostle of the Lord. Hart was found in possession of a set of keys that belonged to the complainant, whose vehicle had been stolen.Hart was placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant and was placed in the back of the patrol unit.The complainant told the officer that he saw Hart walk up to the truck at the BP on Hamilton Crossing, get in and drive off.The owner of the vehicle told the complainant that the vehicle had just been stolen and the complainant proceeded to follow the vehicle to the location where Hart was found. The owner arrived on scene and advised that there was no damage done to his truck and no property was missing from inside.Hart was charged with theft by taking and was transported to the Bartow County Jail without incident.
