CPD officials say no one struck in Grassdale Road shooting

Shots fired, but no injuries in Sunday night incident

Numerous emergency phone calls were dialed into the Cartersville Police Department Sunday night, as several gunshots rang out near Holt’s Pharmacy and the McDonald’s restaurant at the intersection of Joe Frank Harris Parkway and Grassdale Road.

Officials, however, say no one was struck or injured in the incident.

“There was a shots fired call, but there are no gunshot victims on the scene,” said CPD Lt. Mike Bettikofer.

Bettikofer did not specify how many bullets were fired in the incident. “All I have is multiple,” he told The Daily Tribune News. “I don’t have a hard number for you.”

The first 911 calls started coming in at about 9:45 p.m.

A report on the incident, he said, is not complete as of Monday evening.

Suspects involved in the shooting have not been identified. Regarding arrests stemming from the incident, Bettikofer said there “are none that are in regards to the shooting.”
