Woodland athletics director John Howard confirmed Monday the Wildcats' scrimmage against Bartow County brethren Adairsville has been moved up to Thursday night.
The scrimmage, which was originally set for Friday, will now take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Wildcat Stadium, according to Howard.
Wildcats head coach Tony Plott said via text "shortage of officials" was the reason he was given for the change, which puts the game on a school night.
The other two local schools are still set to play their scrimmages on Friday. Cass will host Pepperell, and Cartersville will make the trip up I-75 to face Dalton.
Three of the four programs open the regular season on Aug. 17.
Class 3A Adairsville will host Chattooga, Class 4A Cartersville welcoms Allatoona to town and Class 5A Woodland will head to Southeast Whitfield. Class 5A Cass has the week off before hosting Adairsville on Aug. 24.
