W. Stephen Williams


W. Stephen Williams, age 77, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019.

Mr. Williams was born on July 16, 1941, in Bell Buckle, TN, son of the late Tony Williams and Helen Stephens Williams.  

Mr. Williams proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from Lockheed after thirty years of dedicated employment as a Logistics Engineer. Mr. Williams was an avid reader and could always be found with a cup of coffee in his hand. In his spare time, he researched and tracked his family genealogy. Mr. Williams was very proud of his family and was married to the love of his life, Patricia Penfield Williams for thirty five years. He was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a proud and active member of Heritage Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Survivors include his daughters, Heather (Jim) Almand and Brooke (Jeff) Johnson; sons, Chuck Shropshire and Landy Shropshire; grandchildren, Emma and William Almand; sister, Donna (Davis)Chapman; nieces, Tracy Machen and Kimberly Hogan; nephew, Derrick Chapman; and a loving Maltese, Sissy.

Graveside services will be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Thursday, the 25th of April, 2019, in East View Cemetery, Adairsville, GA with Rev. Michael Tutterow officiating. 

Serving as pallbearers are Chuck Shropshire, Landy Shropshire, Jeff Johnson, Jim Almand, David Taylor and Ed Farmer.

Honorary pallbearers are Davis Chapman, Derrick Chapman and Larry Graves.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock in the evening until eight on Wednesday, the 24th of April, 2019, at Owen Funeral Home.

Mr. Williams requested no flowers because they made him sneeze. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to Heritage Baptist Church, 1070 Douthitt Ferry Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120 and/or NorthPointe Church, 30 Orchard Rd., Adairsville, GA 30103.
