Mr. William Andrew Michael, age 87, of Acworth, passed away April 24, 2019. He attended Henry Grady High School and worked for Standard Brands as a manager for 20 years before working with Wendy's Corporation. He retired in 1993. He was a member of Roswell First United Methodist Church. Being a resident of Bartow County, Bill enjoyed every day of his life, and was generous to everyone he met. All strangers became family and all stray animals became his children. He loved cooking (always having a cake on hand) and vegetable gardening gave him a reputation as "Red", everybody's favorite uncle. If you had a need, he was there with a smile, a joke and a story. He could be found most days on his porch, in his rocking chair, enjoying the view God had graced upon him. His favorite saying was that he was "perfectly content and want for nothing" and that is how he lived his life and that is how he wants to be remembered.
He is survived by his sister, Jean Michael Hendricks; 10 nieces and nephews; 18 great nieces and nephews and the "Village" that he resided from 1966 to present.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 27, at 2 PM at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery with Kenneth Griffith officiating.
Those who desire may make contributions, in lieu of flowers, to Etowah Valley Animal Shelter, 36 Ladds Mountain Road, Cartersville, GA 30120.
A very special thank you to the wonderful nurses that graced him with love and comfort to not only Bill but all his family and friends that were by his side. Enough cannot be said for the Homestead Hospice Nurses and Home Instead Senior Care.
