Elmer Lee Green, 85, of Cartersville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013.

Mr. Green was born Feb. 17, 1928, in Paulding County, the son of the late Brasco Lee and Etta (Smallwood) Green, was retired from Gold Kist, was of the Baptist faith and attended Floyd Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Eleanor McBurnett, Gertrude Still, Thelma Roberts and Velma Mae Singleton; and a brother Bev Mallette.

Surviving is his wife, Myrtice Green of Cartersville; children, Ronnie and his wife Brenda Green of Cartersville, and Teresa and her husband Mike Teems of Rockmart; grandchildren, Bridget Green-Marr, Christopher Strange, Jason Strange and Ashley Teems; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Fisher, the Rev. Ronny Hudson and the Rev. Tommy Harris.

Burial will follow in Floyd Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jason Strange, Chris Strange, Travis Waits, Jeff Byrd, Ray Crider, Anthony Dupree, Jim Hodge and Lamar Cantrell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Grady Hames, J.D. Earwood, Roger Atkins and Jimmy McElvey.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
