Dear Editor,

A recent letter writer expressed concern that some of us did not show the proper respect for President Obama. I agree with the writer's idea that the President should be respected. But this President is different from any of his predecessors. A person needs to be respectful if he/she is to be respected. Most people knew very little about Obama when he was elected and now we still have a number of unanswered questions. He has done little to earn our respect. It has been reported that he has spent nearly a million dollars on lawyer fees to try to keep us from knowing the truth about his birth place.

One of my special concerns is his loyalty, or lack thereof, to our country. He seems to have many acquaintances that are anything but friendly to the U. S. Everybody knows about how he chose to spend 20 years of his early life with Jeremiah Wright who certainly had no love for this country. You will remember Wright is the one who proclaimed, "Not God bless America--- God D*** America!". Obama said Wright was his mentor.

Some of his appointees make you wonder if we are putting a fox to guard the henhouse. Many of his policies are not favored by the majority of the people but he has tried by devious means, with the help from a few unscrupulous Democrats, like Pelosi & Reid, to enact them anyway. If it makes the economy and the general welfare worse, it does not seem to bother him one bit. He has run the national debt up to an unbelievable level and he may bankrupt the country before he is through. It is easy to get the impression that he wouldn't care if the country were brought down to the level of some Third World countries. If it were to happen, he very well might view it as a "mission accomplished".

He visits and is friendly with the leaders of countries who may be our enemies, while being ill-mannered and impolite to our allies. He pretends to be a Christian but seldom, if ever, attends a church. He pokes fun at the Bible and brags on the Koran and the Islam religion. He says we are no longer a Christian nation.

We definitely respect the Office of the President but it is difficult for many of us to have much respect for a President with such a background and record as this man has.
