Funeral service will be Saturday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m. at St. Luke AME Church. The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 5, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Eppinger's Funeral Home. Interment will be Monday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Ga.
Lillie was born Aug. 8, 1925, in Delray Beach, Fla., to the late Clarence Sylvanus and Lillian Odessa Johnson Rolle.
Lillie was educated at Delray Technical School and at Paine College in Augusta, Ga., where she received a degree in nursing. After graduating from Paine College, Lillie joined the Air Force, where she achieved the rank of first lieutenant.
Later in life, Lillie returned to Delray Beach where she launched the First African American Kindergarten Program in the area, the Kiddy Kampus Kindergarten.
Lillie relocated to Cartersville, to live with her son, Kenn and his family. She attended St. Luke AME Church until her health failed.
Lillie leaves a cherished legacy of memories with a devoted family: two sons; Kenn (Bea) and Lee Baker; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
