Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton confirmed Sunday evening that the victim in a Saturday crash has died.

According to the Cartersville police accident report, the driver of a 2006 Jeep Liberty said the sun was in her eyes as she approached the traffic light at Ga. 61 and Euharlee Road about 4:30 p.m.. The woman said by the time she realized the light was red, she was unable to stop, striking the 1993 Buick Roadmaster driven by Mark Turner of Acworth.

The Jeep struck the Buick in the left side, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

Turner was transported to Floyd Medical Center by Bartow EMS with serious internal injuries, according to the report.

An intensive care unit representative at Floyd Medical Center said Sunday about 7 p.m. that Turner was no longer in the hospital's care. Guyton said shortly thereafter that Turner had passed away, but no details were available.
