Louise Ray King, 88, of Cartersville, Georgia, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010.

Mrs. King was born March 17, 1922, in Calhoun, Ga., a daughter of the late Boyce Ray and Dimple Edmondson Ray.

She was a Cartersville resident since 1955. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Cartersville, a graduate of West Georgia College, and had retired from GMAC on Peachtree Street in Atlanta in 1982, where she was an accountant. After retirement, Mrs. King spent a lot of time at the family cabin in Hiawassee. She liked to travel and had visited 47 states and Canada.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, C. Melvin King; son, Paul King, of Alpharetta, and son and daughter-in-law, David and Janet King, of Lawrenceville; three granddaughters, Katie King, Emily King and Mary Beth King; her sister-in-law, Martha Louise Mercer, of Cartersville; a niece and grandniece, Andria Clayton and LeAnne Kelly; and other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 3:30 p.m. from the Sunset Memory Gardens with the Rev. Randall Williams officiating.
