The Bartow County 12-and-under all-stars eliminated Cartersville Thursday night, snatching a 22-6 win to advance to the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association District 5 championship game Saturday.

After a 51-yard touchdown run by Trase Fezzia cut the lead to one score in the second quarter, Cartersville had a chance to possibly tie the game or take the lead, but Bartow's Emmanuel Jones returned an interception 37 yards to help his team to the win.

Cameron Simpson's extra point, his second of the night, closed the scoring for the game as no team would score in the second half.

Trevor Love gave Bartow the lead early with a 13-yard TD pass to Jacob Wilson in the first quarter.

Lowe then added a 1-yard run in the second quarter to put Bartow up by two scores.

Bartow travels to Calhoun Saturday at 2 p.m. with a chance to return to the county as district champions.
