Olivia Rutledge scored 19 points -- almost as many as the opposing team -- as Woodland thumped North Paulding 39-23 on Tuesday night in girls high school basketball.
The Lady Wildcats (2-1) started quickly against the Lady Wolfpack, forging a 12-4 lead by the end of the first quarter.
Woodland added to that lead with a 6-1 second quarter and went into the break up 18-5 on North Paulding (0-2).
Woodland stretched the margin by three points in the third quarter, going up 25-9. Both teams scored 14 points in the final frame.
Rutledge hit two 3-pointers in her scoring effort.
Woodland's scorers also included Ashley Watkins, 6 points; Emily Moore, 5; Lacey Fritz, 5; Jessie Michaels, 3; and Jacqualinn Howell, 1.
North Paulding's leading scorer was Delanka Marcelin, with 5 points.
Woodland was an anemic 7 of 23 from the free throw line while North Paulding went 5 of 10.
The Lady Wildcats next play at Gordon Central on Saturday at 3 p.m.
