Imogene Miller Thompson, 78, of Cartersville passed away Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at the Floyd Medical Center.

Born March 5, 1932, in Rome, she was the daughter of the late Henry Hillary Miller and the late Lora Stancil Miller. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Brannon.

Imogene was a proud graduate of Young Harris Academy. She had been employed with AFCO Insurance. Imogene was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Floyd County since her baptism when she was 13 years old. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Dexter Thompson; her children, Lori Miller of Tucker, Angela and Danny Johnson of Cartersville, and David Allen of Cartersville; a special granddaughter, Jeanna Miller of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Eric Cartee, Brad Cartee, Matthew Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Candice Allen, and Cameron Allen; her sister, Dorothy Moehrke; and two nieces, Kelli Carley and Susan Beeco.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with David Shaw officiating. Burial will be privately for family on Saturday in the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville.
