Mr. Dutton was born March 16, 1935, in Gordon County, the son of the late Jess and Arlene Gregory Dutton. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, was a retired supervisor at Shaw Industries after 38 years and was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ester Dutton; and five brothers, Charles Jack Dutton, Sonny Dutton, Melvin Dutton, Jimmy Dutton and Buddy Dutton.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Alice Dutton; his daughter, Donna Hardin; his son, Mark Dutton; a grandson, Jason Hardin, all of Cartersville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ted and Shirley Dutton and John and Joy Dutton; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Dutton and Mary Dutton, all of Calhoun; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. James Bennett officiating.
Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.
