Doris W. Wofford, 90, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at the Fite Center in Cartersville.

Mrs. Wofford was born June 22, 1920, in Ducktown, Tenn., a daughter of the late Western Whitfield and Stella Campbell Whitfield.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cartersville and a homemaker. Mrs. Wofford was a graduate of the University of Georgia where she was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority, member of the Cartersville Country Club and past member of the Cartersville Service League.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Wofford Jr.; and is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William E. Wofford 111 and Keri C. Wofford of Venice, Calif.; two grandsons, William E. Wofford IV and James F. Wofford; a niece, Mary Bramble of Cumming; two nephews, Western Whitfield III of Sugarland, Texas, and Blake Whitfield of Dallas, Texas; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jim and Mary Morris of Cartersville.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Smith and Rev. Tim Boggess officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Child Fund International, 2821 Emerywood Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294-3726.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the memorial service on Saturday.
