Mr. Daniel Ovell Dutton, age 75, of 898 Erwin Hill Road, Sonoraville, (Farmville Community) passed away Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010. at Gordon Hospital.

He was born in Gordon County, Ga., Jan. 29, 1935, son of the late Melvin Wyatt and Lucille Dutton. Mr. Dutton was a member and deacon of Glade Baptist Church and had served in the United States Army. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation, having worked as a mechanic for over 28 years. Mr. Dutton was an avid hunter and a founder of the Bartow County "Coon Hunters Club." He had a great love for his family and his church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Cheryl Dutton.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Barbara Adcock Dutton of Sonoraville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Ron Edwards of Cartersville, Darlene and Ray Tierce of Sonoraville, and Terri Dutton of Atlanta; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Margie Dutton of Sonoraville; three grandchildren, Wil and Olivia Tierce and Tyler Edwards, several nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Glade Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Parker and Rev. Kevin Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in Hayes Cemetery. Jason Mauldin, Danny Watson, Randy Adcock, Jarrod Woods and Troy Dutton, will serve as pallbearers. Deacons of the church and his "hunting buddies" will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Daniel Ovell Dutton.
