Mrs. Nix was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and always had a close relationship with her brothers and sisters. She was known for her positive outlook on life, her encouragement, her willingness to help others, and her love for her family and friends. She will always be missed, always loved, and always remembered. Mrs. Nix was a charter member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church of Cartersville for the past 58 years, and was employed with the Union Carbide Corporation until the time of her retirement.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Jean Cowart, and Ann Dussault; her sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Brenda Nix, and Ronnie and JoAnn Nix all of Catersville, and Peggy Nix of White; her eighteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 20, 2010 at Oakland Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Sammy Burgess and the Rev. Joe McKaig officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Nicky Cowart, Scott Cowart, Brian Nix, Robert Nix, Anthony Nix, Travis Nix, Kevin Nix, Keith Nix, Russell Nix, David Ezell and Michael Ezell. These gentlemen are asked to be at the by 1 p.m.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 9 p.m. on Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
