Man caught entering vehicle while in possession of illegal drug

Thursday evening a Bartow county deputy was dispatched to I-75 in reference to a suspect entering an abandoned vehicle. The complainant stated that she had left her vehicle on the side of the interstate the previous day due to inclement weather. When she arrived with her boyfriend to retrieve the vehicle, they observed a male searching through the glove box. The suspect stated that he believed the car belonged to his cousin and he was checking to verify, even though he had not been notified of any problems from his cousin. According to the complainant ammunition was missing from the glove compartment. However, upon searching the suspect's vehicle no ammunition was found. Instead, the deputy discovered methamphetamine and arrested the suspect on a possession charge as well as a charge for entering the vehicle.

Domestic disturbance splits couple

Thursday afternoon an officer arrived at 1925 Cassville Road, Lot 2, to investigate a domestic disturbance. The complainant, a neighbor, called after hearing an argument between the victim and offender. The offender stated that the argument was an accusation from his girlfriend of five years in regards to his fidelity. As the argument increased he stated that he had "had enough" and would take his half of the belongings and leave. At this comment, the offender claimed that the girlfriend pushed him to the floor and began hitting him with a cooking pan. He said that he threw the cell phone across the room. When speaking to the victim, another story was discovered. She stated that when she arrived at their shared residence the offender was asleep and she woke him up verbally. She stated that the argument was in regards to his inability to help her around the residence, and her comments made him angry, thus beginning the argument. She reinforced her boyfriend's previous comment in regards to his action of throwing the cell phone. The phone was observed to be broken, but neither party had marks in the areas they specified to have been injured.

Friday night a deputy arrived at 48 Canefield Drive, Cartersville, in reference to a domestic altercation. The complainant stated that the landlord entered the property, demanding that he leave. When the complainant told him that he could not leave a physical altercation ensued, causing damage to the walls and a wall hanging. The landlord was intoxicated and the report does not state that he provided a reason to the renter for him to vacate the residence. Also according to the report, the landlord could not maintain a clear order of events and changed the story repeatedly. The landlord was arrested on criminal trespass charges under the Family Violence Act.

Friday afternoon an officer was dispatched to 28 Kingston Highway 293, Cartersville, to investigate a physical altercation. Upon arrival the officer discovered that the complainant, primary aggressor's wife, had placed the call after her son and husband had begun to fight physically. The complainant stated that the argument between her and her husband was initiated by a planned arrival of his children to visit for a few days. Although the arrangement had been previously agreed upon, the wife told her husband the children could not stay due to her not feeling well. The wife's son became involved after the volume of the argument elevated. The son stated that his step-father continuously yelled and pointed a finger in his face, eventually hitting him. A defensive punch was directed towards the older man and an intense physical fight followed, resulting in a laceration on the victim's left cheek as well as scratches. The aggressor received a swollen eye and scratches, before being placed under arrest and transported to the jail.
