A mechanic for most of his life with a garage in his backyard, Tommy was also a brick mason and a block mason. He enjoyed fishing, hot rods, drag racing, NASCAR, "horse trading," and working on cars.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Dixon Poston; his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Shannon Dixon, Thomas (also known as Dunky) and Teri Poston, and Ronnie and Brenda Poston; his daughters and son-in-law, Lisa Nix and Lori and Marshall Dye; his brothers and sister-in-law, Bob and Ivelyn Poston and Donnie Poston; his sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Gordon Tidwell; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at the Landmark Holiness Church with Rev. I.L. Smith and Rev. Marshall Dye officiating.
The family will accept flowers, but they also suggest that memorial contributions could be made to the American Cancer Society, 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd. NW, Suite 280, Kennesaw, GA 30144-7518.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 9 p.m. Wednesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
