Born Feb. 3, 1938, in Douglas County, he was the son of the late David Thrasher and the late Dahlia Keaton Thrasher. He was also preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters. Fred was a supervisor for Yellow Freight and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Estes Thrasher; his children, Greg Thrasher, Clay Thrasher and his wife Sara, Danny Snow and his wife Tammy, Sharon Bryson and her husband Derrick, Ramona Head and her husband Bryan, and Alicia Flemons and her husband Justin; his grandchildren, Rachael, Brandon, Matthew, Kela, Luke, Haley, Bradley, Ava, Ryder, and Heather; his great-grandchild, Adriana Debra; and his sister, Carol Watson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Dr. Joe E. Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, GA 30120.
