Mr. Grizzle was born Oct. 24, 1926, in West Virginia, the son of the late Dorsey and Martha Southerland Grizzle and was an active member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served in World War II, was retired from Lockheed Corporation, was a member of the Cartersville Masonic Lodge #63 F.&A.M., where he was a 50-year member and a Past Master.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Douglas Grizzle and three sisters, Lillian Ellis, Wanda Haire and Juanita Grizzle.
Surviving is his wife, Kate Grizzle of Cartersville, son and daughter in law, Russell and Janice Grizzle of Wilmington, Delaware, stepdaughter Gail Warren and her husband Stanley Warren of Cartersville, grandchildren, Meredith Grizzle, Gary Grizzle and Tyler Warren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Oakland Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Joe McKaig officiating.
A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of Oakland Heights Baptist Church where the family will receive friends until time for the private family burial.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5 -7 p.m.
