Mrs. Catherine Heard, age 80, of 552 Felton Street Cartersville, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011. Funeral service will be12 noon, Tuesday, Jan.18 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at Eppinger's Funeral Home.

Catherine was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Cartersville to Lewis and Margie Miller, Sr. She attended Summer Hill School where she played basketball.

She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed by and retired from Glad/First Brands after 36 years.

Catherine loved to bowl. She was a gifted bowler and a regular participant in league play.

She leaves to mourn her passing; five sons, Robert Gainor, Maurice Heard (Glinda), Ricky Cotton (Sharon), Reginald Heard, and Lamar Heard (Felicia), a Daughter-in-law, Jacquelyn Gainor, twelve grandchildren, Tomeka, Dominique, and Natasha, all Gainors, Reginald Jr., Chelsea, Jarred, Deja, Kimora, and JaQuan, all Heards, Julian Cotton, Kealla Jones, Jason Williams and Taleshia Palmer, twelve great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Blanche Miller, Godson Brandon Hinton, niece Alice Hinton (Dino) two nephews, Darrel and Harvey Henderson and a host of other relatives and friends.
