CSX will be replacing the railroad track running behind the Shaw Industries plant on West Avenue/State Route 113 all the way through Stilesboro Road. As a result, the railroad crossing located on Burnt Hickory Road, the intersection of Douthit Ferry Road and West Avenue/SR 113 will be closed on Monday, Jan. 31, and Tuesday, Feb. 1. A detour route will be set up directing traffic down Mission Road to Fite Street to West Avenue/113 and vice versa.

Closure will begin on Monday at 8:30 a.m. to ensure all Monday morning school traffic is not affected. Tuesday school traffic and all other traffic during the closure will need to seek an alternate route. The City of Cartersville Public Works, Georgia Department of Transportation and Bartow County Road Department are coordinating the traffic control and detour for this closure. Please be aware, as with any construction work the weather can affect the time frame of the closure.
