An early morning accident that shut down Interstate 75 south left two people seriously injured, including a child.

Cartersville Fire Department Battalion Chief Ray King said four cars were involved in the crash on the Center Road bridge between exits 290 and 288.

The call went out at 7:04 a.m. and all lanes had reopened just after 8.

King said two air ambulances were called, with one transporting a child to an Atlanta children's hospital.

No other details were available.
