Read, who began at the chamber in April 2007, said in her letter of resignation to the board that she wanted to explore new opportunities.
"I have enjoyed my work at the chamber immensely," she said. "However, the time has come in which I want to look at developing opportunities. I am most grateful for the hard work of many, many chamber volunteers over the past four years and for my bright professional staff."
Board Chairman Fred Kittle accepted Read's resignation on behalf of the board of directors and thanked her for her four years of service to the chamber and community.
