Mrs. Betty Joan (Nanna) Kerr, age 64, 41 Montre Circle, Silver Creek, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 5, 2011, at her residence.

Mrs. Kerr was born in Cave Spring on Oct. 29, 1946, daughter of the late Odis and Ruby Morgan Matthews. She was employed for several years with Shaw Industries in Cartersville and Dallas and with the Rome News here in Rome. For the past 5 years, she assisted at Em-Prints in Rome. Mrs. Kerr was a member of the Adairsville Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Randell Kerr, to whom she was married in 1965; two sisters, Mrs. Glenda Gill and Mrs. Grace Kerr, both of Cherokee County, Ala.; 3 brothers, Harlan Matthews, Johnny Matthews, and Jerry Matthews, all of Cherokee County, Ala.; nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Brown and the Rev. Ken Hinkley officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Rome Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home this evening from 6 until 8 p.m.. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.

Pallbearers are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Monday at 1:30 p.m. and include: Jerry Littlefield, Gene Littlefield, Bobby Don Rogers, Stan Rogers, Joe Hayes, and Bradley Rogers.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
