The board discussed keeping current fiscal year tuition rate the same and applying the rate toward the 2012 fiscal year.
If approved Monday, families with students currently enrolled in Cartersville schools will have an inclusive payment of $100 that covers all children if paid by March 31, or $200 by June 30.
After June 30, the cost would increase to $250 per child with the payment due Aug. 1. The cost of enrolling a new student in Cartersville schools will be $250 per child and payment also is due by Aug. 1.
Kelley Dial, chairwoman for the finance committee, reported Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax collected by the school system in December for the month of January was $393,002.
"We're rolling along pretty much as we expected right now," Dial said.
Dial also reported and recommended the board approve the bid of $18,206 by Scoggins Custom Cabinets Inc. to remove and replace 84 countertops at Cartersville Primary School.
"I think, when we get the countertops and tile replaced over the summer, the school is going to look really nice," Superintendent Howard Hinesly said.
Tim Chason, chairman for the curriculum committee, recommended the board approve the proposed school calendars for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years. The calendar was revised due to snow days and has been available for view at the central office since January.
