The caller said contact had not been made with Jean Baptiste Francois since Jan. 28, when the relative was contacted by Francois. Francois told the man he had been given 48 hours to move by a judge and, using money from the relative, he was able to rent a moving van.
The complainant said he was concerned for Francois because of the missing man's severe health issues. He said it's uncommon for Francois to go so long without contacting anyone.
Francois is described as a black male, 47 years old, 5 foot 8 inches, 105 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes that are turning green due to health issues.
Hit and run turns into DUI citation
A driver took matters into her own hands after her vehicle was struck Monday night on North Tennessee Street.
The complainant told a Cartersville police officer she was traveling south when a white Ford truck came into her lane, striking her and driving away. The driver said she turned around and caught up with the driver, informing the offender that she struck the victim's vehicle.
The complainant said she told the driver, later identified as Dawn Morgan, to pull over or she would report her to the police as a hit and run. The victim stated Morgan pulled into a Citgo where she allegedly was seen stumbling.
Morgan told the officer she wasn't aware she struck the other vehicle. The officer stated he smelled an odor of alcohol coming from Morgan.
She was given a voluntary field sobriety test before charged with failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence. She was transported to jail for housing.
