The Lady Wildcats scored just minutes into the game and quietly added to their margin the rest of the evening.
"It was good to get a win," head coach Kyle Morgan of the Lady Wildcats, whose record improves to 1-2. "The girls have been practicing and playing hard for us, and it's good to get a result that rewards them for all their effort."
Woodland started out in high gear on the evening as Johannah Nunez found the back of the net after making a good individual play at the 2:30 mark.
The Lady Wildcats didn't let up, though, and Alexis Velasquez punched one in at the 9:50 mark.
The defenses of both teams took over at that point and Woodland's 2-0 lead lasted into half time.
Woodland scored twice in the second half as well, with Velasquez notching her second goal with an assist from Sara Garrett.
Amber Fuller scored the Lady Wildcats' final score with an assist from Sephanie Hicks.
Coach Morgan said the Lady Wildcats, who are young, are learning as the season goes on.
"The team made some improvements from our earlier games," he said. "We hope to continue to get better but we are still a work in progress."
The Lady Wildcats next play Tuesday, when they visit Centennial, an AAAAA school.
"This should be a good test for us," Morgan added.
