Mr. Combs was born in Floyd County, Ky., on May 16, 1943, son of the late Irvin Combs and the late Faye Caudill Combs. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Clark Combs. Mr. Combs was a 1961 graduate of the Green Township High School in Franklin Furnace, Ohio, and received a master's degree in Business Management from the University of Florida. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for 36 years as a business executive for various commercial loan companies.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary "Bay" Anderson, Adairsville; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Judy Combs, Cedar Bluff, Ala.; nieces, Cathy (Clay) Garland, Colleen McGinnis, Bobbie Hicks and Cindy (Joe) Waller; nephews, Larry Anderson, Greg Combs, Clark Combs, Jon Riley (Kim) Combs and Jack Combs; special grand niece, Candi Garland; special grand nephew, Colt Garland; other special grand nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m., in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Cosby will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 p.m. until the service time. At other hours they will be at their respective residences.
