Adairsville's girls soccer team enjoyed its highest-scoring output of the season Monday at Mount Zion, winning 7-1 behind another hat trick from its top goal scorer.

Cassidy Green, who notched a hat trick last Tuesday vs. Chattooga, tallied three more goals in Monday's win, and Nisa Ayers contributed an assist on Green's final goal before adding two goals of her own. Ashley Phillips had two assists.

The Lady Tigers' five-goal second half broke open what had been a close match.

"It was real close, back and forth, and then we just scored three goals real quick," Adairsville assistant coach Lance Hall said.

Green's goal in the 43rd minute, three minutes removed from halftime, gave the Lady Tigers a 3-1 lead, and Ayers recorded back-to-back goals in the 55th and 61st minutes on assists from Phillips and Brooke Chagnon, respectively, to put them up by four.

Yesenia Tapia added another goal in the 63rd minute, and Amy Bramblett closed the scoring out with a goal that came directly off her corner kick in the 75th minute.

"[She] just kicked it into the goal, right off the corner," Hall added of Bramblett's goal. "I think they were shocked."

Green gave Adairsville a first-half lead with a goal in the 7th minute, off Phillips' assist, and extended that lead to 2-0 in the 31st minute with a goal from the top of the 18-yard mark.

Mount Zion's 40-yard, breakaway goal in the 38th minute put the deficit at 2-1 for the hosts.

The Lady Tigers (3-3) host Region 7A-AA opponent Coosa today in Tiger Valley. The match begins at 5:30 p.m.
