To honor his memory, Garrett Black's relatives have established the Garrett Steven Black Baseball Scholarship Fund. In the future, the college scholarship will be awarded to a student who has played baseball at Cartersville High School.

On Monday, Black, 8, was hit and killed in a bus accident at the city school system's bus barn at 150 Milner Road. According to the accident report, the school bus that struck the boy was passing the vehicle he had exited in the parking lot.

To contribute financially, individuals can deliver or mail donations to the Christian A. Coomer Attorney at Law office, 127-A W. Main St., Cartersville, GA 30120. For more information, call 770-402-5982.
