Valari Mathis Camp, 52, of Marietta, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011.

Valari was a kind and blissful wife, mother, relative and friend to many. Valari was a vivacious, creative, loving woman who loved life and the many people who loved her as well. She was married for almost 28 years to the love of her life, John. She touched many lives during her 29 years in public education, most recently as the director of Georgia TAPP at Metro RESA in Smyrna, and held an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of West Georgia and masters and specialist degrees in education. Valari will be deeply missed by all.

She is survived by her husband, John, of Marietta; daughter, Katy Ruth of Atlanta; son, Taylor of Athens; mother, Ruth Mathis of Rome; sister, Vicki Johnson and her husband, Willie, of Rome-Silver Hill; brother, Barry Mathis and his wife, Donna, of Dallas, Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Eulaine Camp of Rome; and sister-in-law, Linda Gentry, and her husband, David, of Rome.

A memorial service for Valari will be held on Saturday, March 19, at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Marietta First United Methodist Church, 56 Whitlock Ave., Marietta. The family will receive friends in the Family Life Hall of the church immediately following the service.
