The Colonels scored a run in all but one inning of the game, played at Cass High School. They scored in the bottom of the first, second, third, fifth and sixth innings.
The victory let the Colonels move over .500 again, as they improved to 6-5 overall and 2-3 in Region 7-AAAA.
Cass rebounded from a tough 5-4 loss to Woodland on Tuesday. Friday night's loss dropped the Bulldogs' overall record to 3-8 on the season and 1-5 in region play.
Tyler Gates went the distance for the Colonels, scattering four hits and two walks in picking up the win with seven innings of work.
Daniel Bermudez took the loss for Forsyth Central, giving up five runs, two of which were earned, while allowing six hits and two walks in five innings of work. Cass got seven hits on the night.
Three errors were charged to Forsyth Central.
Gates also helped his cause with a home run and an RBI.
Also contributing offensively for the Colonels were Taylor Bentley, 1-of-4 with a double and a run; Dylan Williams, 2-of-3 with two singles and an RBI; Sam Ayers, 1-of-3 with a single; Connor Law, a walk and two runs; Dalton Parham, 1-of-2 with an RBI; Brandon Etheridge, a run; and Dalton Weightman, 1-of-2 with a single and a walk.
