WALESKA -- A former Cass High golfer earned her conference's top weekly honor for the first time in her career.

Reinhardt University women's golfer Megan Lane was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her play from March 21-27.

Lane, a 5-foot-4 senior from Cartersville, led Reinhardt by shooting 87-84, a two-round score of 171, for sixth place among 31 players at the Tennessee Wesleyan College Spring Invitational last Monday and Tuesday. On the par-72, 5,817-yard Springbrook Golf and Country Club course, she was the top finisher from the three AAC teams that competed.

A four-year member of the Lady Eagles, Lane came to Reinhardt when the program began in 2007-08. She was a second-team All-AAC selection last season.

The Lady Eagles are currently participating in the 5th Annual Piedmont College Spring Invitational at The Orchard Golf and Country Club in Clarkesville, Tenn. The two-day, 36-hole tournament concludes today.
