Mrs. Segers was born on April 16, 1927 in Glenhaven, Fla., daughter of the late Arthur Jones Weaver and the late Carrie Driskell Weaver. She was employed by Shaw Industries for 15 years and was a member of the Church at Liberty Square in Cartersville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. D.F. Segers in 1986; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Nell Rowell; and a brother, Mr. Aaron Weaver.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Mildred Baker of Rockmart and Geneva and Tony Corn of Cedartown; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Janette Segers of Cartersville; two sisters, I.V. Wade of Buchanan and Sylvia Arp of Cedartown; and a brother, Junior Weaver of Rockmart. Eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Segers will be held on Monday, April 4 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Pastor Joe E. Edwards officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Jeremy Nichols, Larry Whitener, Paul Segers, Michael Baker, Todd Baker, Scott Baker, Ryan Young and Neal Young.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, April 3 between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m.
