Traffic in Cartersville continues to be affected by downed trees in the area of Fite Street.

Late Tuesday morning, Mission Road closed from Burnt Hickory Road to Charles Street after a downed tree took out power lines and a gas line.

West Cherokee Avenue at Cassville Road remained closed Tuesday morning after a tree took down utility lines belonging to AT&T during Monday night's storm.

Rebecca Bohlander with the city of Cartersville said the repairs were turned over to AT&T, and when an estimated time of repair was available, notification would be given.

Less than a mile away on Fite Street, a downed tree pulled up water and sewer lines near West Avenue. The massive tree narrowly missed crushing nearby residences, with only superficial damage done to the homes.

Power was out to three homes, along with water and sewer. At 10:30 a.m., no time of repair was available.
