The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is investigating a missing person.

According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, Wazina Suleiman, 30, of 21 Law Road, Cartersville, was reported missing by her husband, Abed Suleiman, on Friday. Wazina Suleiman is described as a Middle Eastern female approximately 5 feet 7 inches, 130 pounds, brown hair (usually covered) and hazel eyes.

A cousin of Suleiman told The Daily Tribune News that his family learned of her disappearance from her husband on Sunday. Ramzi Jaber, who lives in New York, said Suleiman's parents are expected to arrive from Palestine tonight.

Jaber said his cousin moved to Cartersville three years ago with her husband and five children.

A Bartow County incident report states that a deputy was dispatched to the residence Friday at 10:40 p.m. in reference to a missing person report. Abed Suleiman told the deputy that his wife had gone to return a video and had not returned. Mr. Suleiman said he had gone hunting but returned around 8:50 p.m. due to scheduling problems. His children informed him Wazina Suleiman left about 10 minutes before he returned.

Shoplifter surrenders to police

A woman who allegedly stole close to $600 in fragrances from Kohl's surrendered after she was surrounded by multiple police cars. A Cartersville police officer responded to the department store Sunday afternoon in reference to shoplifting in progress.

Upon arrival the officer made contact with Mary Elizabeth Brown as she exited the store. Once she spotted the officer, she attempted to run, throwing a bag under a car. Inside the bag was $556 in fragrances, $182 in clothing and $29 in jewelry. She was arrested and booked for shoplifting and probation violation.

Adairsville police end month long search

A man wanted for parole violation turned himself into Adairsville police last Tuesday. Eric Lamont Milligan told patrol officers he was tired of looking over his shoulder. Officers said Milligan's surrender ended a monthlong man hunt.

Others arrested in Adairsville include Zachary Andrew Garner who was arrested last Thursday and charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Garner had 13 bags of marijuana and $700 in cash on his persons.
