A man was apprehended Friday afternoon after leading police on a foot chase.

According to Cartersville Police Chief Tommy Culpepper, about 1:30 p.m. an officer was working the area where there had been a number of thefts when she saw Allan Joseph Hartfield go between two houses.

The officer verbally asked Hartfield to stop. The man allegedly had two dogs he let go before placing his hands in his pockets. Hartfield ignored the officer's commands to stop and began fleeing.

He was apprehended at the intersection of Grassdale and Cassville roads.

In addition to the pending charges, Hartfield also had a warrant for burglary and theft by taking.
