Dedicating most of the agenda items to Love's Travel Center, the Emerson City Council approved three key items to the center's operation and maintenance.

Standard operations and forms include the mayor's signature to agree to the dedication of all improvements to the center on behalf of the city. A stormwater maintenance agreement was also reached, stating that after 18 months of operation the city will perform a routine inspection and follow through with any necessary repairs at that time.

Love's also requested a malt beverage license, which would allow the location to sell alcoholic beverages.

Following the death of a lifelong resident and an outstanding water bill due to a leak in the home while the citizen was away, the city council, in compliance with state law, agreed to pay part of the bill for the family.
