She was born in Rome, Feb. 12, 1951, daughter of Sammie Louise Causby Hight and the late Robert L. Reed. Mrs. Cook was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling. She had been employed at Stanton Carpets in Calhoun. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her father, her husband, Donald Ray Cook in 2009, and a brother, Bobby Reed.
Survivors include two daughters, Selina Register and Cherie Cook both of Adairsville; her mother, Sammie Hight of Adairsville; three grandchildren, Chase Atkins, Kinsley Cook, and Addison Cook; a brother, Terry Reed of Adairsville; close friends, Pat and Herb Poston and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 1, at 4:30 p.m., from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Owens, Rev. Larry Towe and Rev. Gary Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Kingston.
Pallbearers will be Michael Garland, Brandon Evans, Chris Evans, Jimmy Fletcher, Frankie Fletcher, and Freddie Fletcher.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home.
