The Georgia Department of Driver Services stated that legislation enacted in 2010 provides that GDDS may issue free replacements for customers who lost a driver's license or identification card due to a natural disaster if their county of residence falls within a federal disaster declaration. Bartow is included in the president's recently released declaration of disaster areas.
Locations and hours of operation of customer service centers can be found at www.dds.ga.gov. Replacement licenses and ID cards may be ordered online, but victims must pay the transaction fee. Refunds are available.
Eligible customers must visit a GDDS center and present any of the items listed in Category A or two items from Category B.
