Jonathan was born Nov. 25, 1971, to James and Annie Ruth Ellis Whitfield. He attended Bartow County schools and graduated from Cass High School in 1990. He furthered his education at Albany State University, and was employed as a manager with the Captain D's Seafood Restaurant chain.
As a child Jonathan dedicated his life to Christ through the Damascus Baptist Church. He recently rededicated his life to Christ and recommitted himself to walking upright with the Lord. Jonathan also possessed a passion for music and was a prolific songwriter.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Tysonly; three daughters, Shaakira, Imani and Kyla; parents, James and Annie Ruth Whitfield; sisters, Gloria Linely and Marcia Strickland; brother, James T. Whitfield Jr.; in-laws Harvey and Barbara Harrison; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
