Mr. Fowler was born May 1, 1930, in Bartow County, son of the late Gasaway Fowler and Cora Teems Fowler. He was retired from General Motors, was a veteran and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Fowler enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was preceded in death by brothers; R.G. Fowler, Joseph Fowler, Elbert Fowler, Alton Fowler and Woody Fowler.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years; Margine Cochran Fowler of Cartersville; daughters, Vickie and Mark Chatham, Vanessa Edmonds of Cartersville; four grandchildren, Kevin Chatham, Carrie Chatham, Anna Edmonds and Zachary Edmonds; great-grandchildren, Austin Chatham, Payton Chatham and Harley Abernathy all of Cartersville; sister, Catherine Abee of Cartersville; sister-in-laws, Vneeda Fowler of Marietta, and Pat Fowler of Cartersville; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 18, at 11 a.m., at Shady Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Thomas Wheeler and Rev. Edwin Weaver. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.
