Padres come from behind in LL win

The Padres fell behind three times but took the lead when it counted and defeated the Colts, 6-5, in Cartersville Little League play May 12.

The Colts grabbed the game's first lead, 2-0, in the top of the first after Seth Smith singled and scored on an RBI triple by Britton Rice, who also scored. The Padres answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning on runs by Sean Holton and LaDarius Winburn.

The Colts surged back into the lead, 3-2, in the top of the second on a run by Connor Wall. The Padres answered in the bottom of the frame to tie the score at 3-3 on a run by Brycen Jones, then took the lead, 4-3, in the fourth on a solo homer by Jones.

The Colts rallied for a 5-4 lead in the top of the sixth on runs by Andy Sims and Seth Smith.

Dawson Dysart and Kurtis Feanny both singled and scored on a walk-off, two-RBI single by Hill Smith.

Hitting for the Padres were Jaylen Knowles, one hit; Sean Holton, a double, a run and an RBI; LaDarius Winburn, a walk, a run; Brant Smith, a walk; Garrett Geros, a hit, a walk; Dawson Dysart, a hit, a run; Kurtis Feanny, a hit, a run; Hill Smith, a hit with two RBIs; Brycen Jones, a homerun, a walk, two runs and an RBI. Dawson Dysart threw two innings and struck out one for the Padres, Jacob Frye was on the mound five innings and fanned nine; and Jones worked one inning and recorded two strikeouts.

Offensively for the Colts, Britton Rice collected two hits, including a double and a walk, scored a run and was credited with an RBI; Seth Smith, a hit, a walk, two runs; Chris Mills, a hit; Conner Wall, a walk, two hit by pitches, a run; Andy Sims, a walk, a run; Jake Richards, a walk; and Zach Hall, a walk.

Pitching for the Colts were Rice, four innings with 11 strikeouts; and Richards, two innings.

Indians 12, Crackers 10

Bailey Campbell led the Indians over the Crackers, striking out 10 over four innings and scoring three runs while getting two hits with a double, a walk and hit by pitch, in Cartersville Little League play May 12.

Alan Thacker added three hits with two runs; Hunter James, two hits with two runs; and Jacob Gambill had two hits with a double and four RBIs.

Also hitting for the Indians were Dax Edwards, a double, two walks, a run and two RBIs; Noah Daniel, one hit with a run; Thacker Lively, a run and an RBI; Harrison Heath, a walk, a run; Jordan Vinall, a run; and Ian Anaba, an RBI.

Also pitching were Lively, one inning with a strikeout, and Inaba, one inning with two strikeouts.

The Crackers were led offensively by Thomas Watkins, two hits, two runs, an RBI; Joshua Mayo, a triple, a run and two RBIs; Gabriel Gridley, a double, a walk, three runs and an RBI; Preston Martin, one hit, one run; Austin Lunde, one hit with an RBI; Levi Pickel, one hit, two walks; Asa Plummer, a hit, a run; Will Bentley, two walks, two runs; and Blake Adams, two walks.

Gridley threw five innings and fanned three; Bentley, one inning; and Martin, one inning.



Dodgers 13, Braves 3

Curtis Wilkes and Thomas Jolly combined for a one-hitter and the Dodgers beat the Braves, 13-3, in Cartersville Little League play May 12.

Spencer Dickey led the winners offensively with a homerun, a triple, a walk, three runs and two RBI's. Jolly added three hits with a double, two runs and two RBIs. The game was called after four innings due to the 10-run rule.

Offensively, the Dodgers were also powered by Wilkes, two hits with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs; Austin Clark, two hits with a double, two runs and two RBIs; Reese Brideau, two hits with an RBI; Trevor Lawrence, a double, a walk, two runs and two RBIs; Trey Harkins, one hit with a walk and a run; Preston Welchel, two walks and a run; and Juan Guerrero, a walk.

Wilkes threw for two innings, and Jolly got in three innings with three strikeouts.

The Braves were powered by Tanner Jordan, a double, a run and an RBI; Brody Faulk, two walks and a run; Taylor McDaniel, a walk and a run; John Walker Knowles, two walks; Mitch Brown, two walks; Landen Woods, a walk; Braden Shultz, a walk; and Baylor Agan, a walk.

Brody Faulk worked one inning; Garrett Cornett, four innings with two strikeouts; and Bradley Sutton, one inning.

Tigers 16, Phillies 1

Ant McNair-Seigler and Noah Davis scattered five hits and allowed just one run while striking out seven as the Tigers overpowered the Phillies, 16-1, in Cartersville Little League play May 12.

McNair-Seigler and Jake Cooper led the Tigers offensively with three hits each, and combined for five runs and seven RBIs. Grant Harris and Gage Morris added two hits each and combined for three runs and four RBIs.

The game was called after four innings due to the 10-run rule.

Hitting for the Tigers were McNair-Seigler, three hits with a walk, three runs and three RBIs; Cooper, three hits with two doubles, two runs and four RBIs; Grant Harris, two doubles, two walks, three runs, and two RBIs; Gage Morris, two hits with a double, a walk and two RBIs; John Reed Evans, a hit, a walk, two runs and an RBI; Johathan Pritchett, a hit, a walk, two runs; Noah Davis, a hit, a run; Garrett Garside, two walks, two runs; and Dominique Williams, a walk, a run.

Ant McNair-Seigler pitched three innings and whiffed six, while Noah Davis threw for one inning and fanned one for the Tigers.

The Phillies were led offensively by Austin Davis, two hits, one a double, and an RBI; Blane Belisario, a hit, a run; Jake Hacker, a hit; Khase Willis, a hit; Jake Norris, a walk; and Josh Holmes, a walk.

Pitching for the Phillies were Jake Hacker, two innings, two strikeouts; Belisario, two innings; Willis, one inning, one strikeout; and Jordan Blackmon, one inning, one strikeout.
