Staff Report

The Cartersville Little League opens postseason play today with a double-elimination tournament featuring all eight of its teams.

Seeds were determined by final regular season standings as the Tigers (19-2) earned the No. 1 seed followed by Nos. 2-8 -- Padres (15-5), Crackers (14-7), Dodgers (13-8), Indians (10-11), Phillies (9-12), Colts (2-19) and Braves (2-19).

The tournament begins with the Braves-Tigers and Colts-Padres at 5:45 p.m., and the Indians-Dodgers and Phillies-Crackers at 7:30 p.m.

The winners of the Braves-Tigers and Colts-Padres matchups would play each other Tuesday with the losers facing off as well. Likewise, the winners of today's latter games would meet Tuesday with the losers squaring off, too.
