Carlton C. Haney, age 73, died May 29, 2011, in Cartersville.

He was born Nov. 5, 1937, to Frank and Alma Haney. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. While married to Barbara Fagan Haney in Acworth, they raised five children. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, and fishing. He was born and raised in Cartersville and lived his entire life in the area.

Preceded in death by his parents; Brother's Wrenae Haney and Milton Haney; four- half brothers and five half-sisters; Wife Barbara Fagan Haney; daughter's Theresa Haney and Donna Sue Miller; grandchild Trenton Smith.

Survived by wife Helen Haney; sister Jean House; children Barry Smith and his wife Madeline of Dallas, Gene Smith and his wife Leann of Woodstock, Jerry Haney and his wife Kimberly of Cartersville, Tamara Campbell and her husband Eddy of Acworth; Grandchildren Leonda Kennedy, Shana Watson, Brandi Smith, Tyler Smith, Riley Smith, Trevor Smith, Reece Smith, Clint Haney, Amanda Haney, Sadie, Allie, Buddy and faithful dog Rudy; several nieces and nephews; nine Great-Grandchildren and two Great-Great-Grandchildren.

We will be celebrating his life Thursday, at 11 a.m., at the Chapel at Excel Christian Academy, 325 Old Mill Road, Cartersville, GA 30120. Viewing will be Wednesday in the chapel from 6 until 8 p.m. Arrangements by SouthCare Cremation Society and Memorial Centers in Marietta.
